Behind the label

Who hasn't wanted to know what goes on behind the scenes of their favorite brand?

In order to discover how our beautiful creations come to life, we are going to reveal to you in all transparency the different steps from the birth of a product, through the selection and the coating of the fabric to finally discover the places of confection.

THE STEPS

The PPMC products from A to Z.

Step 2 - How are our fabrics chosen?

Carefully selected prints

Every year, our Creative team goes in search of the most beautiful patterns by visiting textile trade fairs such as Première Vision. From 100 to 150 selected fabrics, a vote is organized with all PPMC staff to elect the big winners. The Fabric Committee then adjusts the selection to offer you a wide choice of patterns throughout the year.

Exclusive PPMC designs

Did you know that 1/3 of our designs are unique? We collaborate with talented illustrators to acquire exclusive designs, which we recolor and adjust to the size of our accessories. After a few print tests, these designs are also voted on by our teams. Only 12 fabrics are selected for our two monthly collections.
Fabrics not selected are not lost: you can find them for sale by the meter on our website or during our destocking.

A responsible approach to fabric selection

We are committed to offering more ethical and responsible fashion. To this end, we favor organic cotton for fabrics whose dyeing and printing we control. They are manufactured by our partners in France (Lyon), Portugal and Turkey.

Step 1 - How are our products created?

At Papa Pique et Maman Coud, creation is at the heart of our DNA. At our offices in Saint-Philibert, Morbihan (56), our team imagines and designs new products based on your needs and desires.

Once an idea has been conceived, a prototype is produced and presented at a meeting with all our staff. Everyone gives their opinion on the design, practicality and possible improvements to be made.
If the product is approved, it is then tested in-store before being launched on a larger scale. If not, it remains in our archives, awaiting its moment of glory... or not!

Step 4 - Manufacturing: sustainable expertise

We work with a dozen partners in France and abroad. Most of them have been with us since the brand was created, generating around a hundred jobs.

Our workshops are often family businesses, with whom we have built up a relationship of trust. We are committed to :

Guarantee stable orders from one year to the next.
Not to negotiate prices downwards with our partners.
Respect international labor standards.
Every year, Nam, the founder of PPMC, goes out to meet these partners, whom she considers an integral part of the PPMC adventure.

Manufacturing abroad is sometimes criticized, but each country has its own know-how. It's thanks to these responsible, long-standing partners that we can offer you a wide choice of accessories, while regularly renewing our collections to meet your every need.

Step 5 - Quality control before distribution

Once manufactured, our products arrive at our logistics platform in Ploeren (near Vannes, 56). Our Quality team then carries out a rigorous inspection before the products are dispatched to stores or stocked for online sales.

What happens next? You write the rest of the story, by adopting our creations and making them a part of your everyday life.

Step 3 - Coating: protecting and reinforcing the fabric

Coating is a surface treatment that makes the fabric resistant and waterproof. At PPMC, we use phthalate-free PVC, which is more respectful of everyone's health.

Some fabrics are coated in Portugal, if printed locally.

Others are coated in Laval, France, with a plasticized PVC enriched with vegetable oil.

This innovation makes it possible to reduce the use of petroleum-based materials by 50%, replacing them with biosourced alternatives in a more environmentally-friendly approach.
